K. Frangogiannis receives a large business delegation from the UAE in Athens tomorrow

Led by the Minister of Industry and High Technology Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the 5 largest investment funds in the country and 20 major companies from the United Arab Emirates will be in Athens tomorrow, sealing the great interest in strengthening and deepening economic and business relations with Greece. The large delegation will be welcomed by the political leadership of the country’s Economic Diplomacy, Deputy Minister Costas Frangogiannis and Secretary General Giannis Smyrlis.

This is an unprecedented in size and importance business mission, coordinated by the Abu Dhabi State Industrial and Investment Group ADQ, with which the Hellenic Development Bank and the Hellenic Development Investment Bank signed, in May 2022, the Framework Agreement for making investments of 4 billion euros in Greece. During the visit, the first monitoring committee “Steering Committee” of the above Agreement will be convened.

As part of the business mission, K. Frangogiannis will have a bilateral meeting with Dr. Al Jaber and together will launch the business forum work that will take place tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, at the Hotel Great Britain. “It is worth noting that the Forum is organized on the initiative of the Emirati side and in particular of the Abu Dhabi State Investment Fund: ADQ. The whole event is an indication of the strong interest of Emirati companies for cooperation with Greek companies and for investments in Greece.” The Deputy Foreign Minister points out in a recent interview with the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency about the visit.

He also explained that “the close contacts between the two countries over the past two years, at all levels, demonstrate the excellent level of bilateral relations and the understanding we have on a wide range of issues. At the same time, with the business missions from the Emirates in Athens, but also the presence of Greece in the Dubai exhibition, which was overseen by Enterprise Greece, we prove our common desire to give even greater depth to our truly strategic partnership “.

The Forum and the series of B2B contacts that have been planned with Greek companies, are organized by Enterprise Greece, under the coordination of the General Secretariat for International Economic Relations & Extroversion. As part of the work of the first day of the Forum, important energy investment projects in Greece will be presented to the Emirati Investment Funds and business groups, organized in 5 thematic units: solar, wind energy and storage / hydrogen / extraction and natural gas production / supply. and FSRU / electrical interfaces.
