K. Hatzidakis: Even SYRIZA voters recognize the progress made in EFKA

“Even SYRIZA voters recognize the progress that has been made in EFKA! This is shown by the Pulse poll for Action 24 Press”, points out the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, in a post on his personal Facebook account.

In more detail, Mr. Hatzidakis states the following:

“Specifically, 45% of respondents state that the service at EFKA has been upgraded in the last 12 months. This percentage is higher than the percentage of New Democracy in the previous elections! And let’s not forget that in similar polls, some years ago, Negative opinions about EFKA would be overwhelmingly positive, so this percentage is a proof of the efforts we make for pensions, but also for service, with 1555 having solved several problems and in recent days even surpassed the 2 million answered calls.

At the same time, 44% believe that the measures to speed up the award of pensions have paid off. It seems that the criticism of the opposition that we have quickly turned it into a sea and the claim of Mr. Tsipras that, ostensibly, the outstanding pensions have tripled have not taken place. The fact that 44% see an improvement in service in the most troubled Public Organization – which accounted for 48% of all complaints from the wider Public Sector, according to the Ombudsman – means that we are indeed on the right track.

Regarding the questions for the certified lawyers and accountants, the findings of the research become even more interesting, because they underline the obvious discrepancy between the citizens and the criticism exerted on us by the opposition parties and the trade unionists of EFKA. 62% trust the institution, while it is characteristic that even among the SYRIZA voters who participated in the survey, 50% agree with the institution. At the same time, 59% would prefer a certified professional to issue their pension.

Personally, I am not impressed by these figures. I have pointed out many times that prospective retirees are interested in getting their pension. They do not care who will take it out. And, why not a citizen want to use the services of a certified professional, who will retire in some cases even in 45 days, without hassle?

I do not write all this to you, to celebrate. I recognize that there is a lot of room for improvement, because in EFKA there was a stalemate, especially after the turbulent merger of 2016 by SYRIZA. But the recognition by the citizens of the hard work we do at EFKA, shows that we must continue our efforts and intensify them and we will intensify them through various means and mainly utilizing technology. “Our political opponents may remain on the side of some EFKA trade unionists, but they know that this is how they are facing the majority of citizens who want us to go ahead and turn EFKA into an organization friendly to the insured.”
