K. Hatzidakis: Pension increases will take place from the new year

Pension increases will be given from the new year and not at the end of 2022, according to what was clarified by Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, speaking to ANT1.

As he stated, despite the impressions that have been formed so far, obviously wrong, pensioners will not see the increases with the January pensions, which are paid at the end of December, but in the payments that will be made from the new year, “since they must first let’s see how much the price index will close for the whole of 2022” and apparently any amounts that arise for each beneficiary will then be given retroactively.

Regarding the amount of the increase in pensions from the New Year of 2023, Mr. Hatzidakis said “what will the increase be? It will concern all pensioners and it will be the increase in the price index plus the increase in GDP and they will be divided by two, for for the increase to occur. What I do know is that the increase will be significant, but I don’t know yet to tell you how much, I don’t know how much the index will close in 2022.”
