Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during his speech at the extraordinary NATO summit, reiterated our country’s firm support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity of Ukraine and its right to self-defense.
According to government sources, he referred to the measures taken by Greece from the first moment to support Ukraine with defense equipment and humanitarian aid, to support sanctions, as well as to receive more than 13,000 Ukrainian refugees from our country.
He also mentioned the sanctions against Russia and stressed that in order for them to be effective as a means of pressure, their unified implementation by all NATO countries is necessary.
He also referred to the situation in Mariupol and the human losses that are a tragedy not only for Ukraine but also for Greece, which is already mourning the loss of expatriates.
