Kyriakos Mitsotakis is going to Zagreb today where he will have a series of meetings with the President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament.

Government sources say that the visit of the Greek Prime Minister and the meetings he will have in the Croatian capital mark the excellent level of bilateral relations and the desire to further strengthen them, as well as the close cooperation of Mr. Mitsotakis with his Croatian counterpart Andrei Plenko. It is recalled that Mr. Plenkovic had visited Greece and met with the Prime Minister at the Maximos Palace in September 2021 on the occasion of the MED9 Group Summit, to which Croatia also joined.

The two leaders have close co-operation at EU level, on issues on which they are co-ordinating, while Greece and Croatia, according to the same sources, have an understanding on a number of issues, such as Immigration and its attempt to instrumentalize it for political purposes.

During the visit to Croatia, the European course of the Western Balkans is also expected to be discussed, a perspective that our country has always supported, especially in a difficult phase for the region.

The prime minister will also meet with President Zoran Milanovic and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic.
