South Korean singer Jimin, a member of the K-pop group BTS, is the owner of the most listened to song in the world on Spotify. The song “Who” completed, this Wednesday (31), eight days at the top of the Top 50 — World, a playlist that brings together the platform’s biggest hits on a global scale.
In the last 24 hours, as calculated by Spotify, “Who” had 8.9 million views, closely followed by Billie Eilish’s “Birds Of A Feather” with 8.3 million. Closing the podium is Sabrina Carpenter and the 6.5 million plays of “Espresso”. In total, Jimin’s song has already been listened to 113 million times on the platform; on YouTube, the official music video has more than 26 million views.
The South Korean’s new hit too tops the Billboard Global 200which gathers the most listened to songs in the world, and Billboard Global Excl. US, which computes global data excluding the United States. “Who” debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, the main album chart in the United States. Jimin’s record is the first place achieved by the BTS member with “Like Crazy”, in 2023.
The song is the second single from “Muse”, the singer’s second studio album. The album features seven songs, including the hit “Closer Than This”, released before the album, and the first single “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band”, featuring South Korean rapper “Loco”.
Jimin is one of the six members of the K-pop group BTS, which was on hiatus, who have pursued solo careers. Only Jin has not released a solo album, as he was the last idol from the group to be discharged from military service.
