For the first time in Brazil, the K-Pop group NCT 127 landed in São Paulo on Tuesday (17) to fulfill a schedule of three shows in the capital of São Paulo, which take place on Wednesday (18), Thursday (19) and Friday -Friday (20).
Known for being one of the main names in the K-Pop industry, NCT 127 is a subgroup of NCT, a group formed by SM Entertainment in 2016 with more than 20 members. Last year, the members gave an interview to CNN Brasil reacting to comparisons of their “질주 (2 Baddies)” comeback with the “Fast and Furious” movie franchise.
The eight members who are in the country, Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Mark participated in a press conference that took place on Tuesday in the hall of VIBRA São Paulo, where the shows will also take place. Haechan, who was on the ‘NEO CITY – THE LINK’ tour, is taking a break from the group’s schedule for health reasons.
Soon after they arrived, to the sound of the hit “질주 (2 Baddies)”, member Jungwoo spent his Portuguese by saying “hi” to the journalists present.
According to NCT leader Taeyong, everyone has high expectations for the concerts and the energy they will feel in contact with the fans. Canadian Mark commented that he has already heard a lot about the passion of Brazilian fans and that everyone is curious to see the interactions they will have at the shows.
There was also a moment of reflection. When asked what time in their lives they had the most personal and professional growth, Johnny said it was always after touring. According to the American, he has been thinking a lot about how much everyone will have matured after this time.
Something that Doyoung confessed about learning is the fact that this tour has added more songs that the members can perform as units or solo, which is new for the group. For him, everyone is learning from this experience and the countries they are visiting for the first time.
Regarding the group’s success, Yuta commented that he doesn’t know the secret, but that everyone puts a lot of effort into their performances. The singer added that they try to visit as many countries as possible to meet as many fans as possible, and that the connection that emerges during these encounters energizes and motivates them to keep pushing.
The visit to Brazil was highly anticipated by NCTzens [como são chamados os fãs], but the feeling was mutual. Jungwoo said that he wants to have a lot of good and unforgettable memories with Brazilian fans and that he has wanted to come to our country for a long time because he loves football so much.
NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY
Take note of the date: on January 30th, NCT 127 releases “Ay-Yo”, a repackage album – for those unfamiliar, the term means a collection of old songs, but with other new songs and a new concept.
When asked about the expectation for the launch, the leader Taeyoung answered in Korean, but liked the translation given and repeated, in Portuguese, that “It’s very dough”.
