The Ministry of Environment and Energy announced that in April the second cycle of the program “I move Electricly” to promote e-mobility will begin.

The new program, with a budget of 50 million euros for 2022, includes increased subsidies for the purchase of electric cars and motorcycles while social criteria are established for the disabled, children with three children and – for the first time – for young people up to 29 years old. – Companies can now be subsidized for the purchase and installation of smart chargers, provided that they will serve the purposes of the company and will not be used for commercial exploitation.

– It is also possible for companies to withdraw an equal number of vehicles from that corresponding to the vehicles for which they are applying for a grant, with the amount per vehicle being 1,000 euros.

Courier companies, distribution companies and travel companies will now be able to subsidize the purchase of electric bicycles.

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas, stated: “With the second cycle of” I Move Electric “and the new increased subsidies, we give strong incentives to more and more citizens to acquire purely electric vehicles. The first cycle of the program was very positive It contributed significantly to the 183.6% increase in electric vehicles and the target oversupply provided for in the National Energy and Climate Plan (ESEK) for 2021. 6,967 electric vehicles were classified, compared to the target of 3,750. We are announcing the specifications of the new program, which includes an increase in the subsidy for individuals and companies for the acquisition of electric cars and two-wheelers, as well as social criteria for the disabled and large families, The new program will be important for achieving the long-term goals for electric propulsion, provided for in the first National Climate Law “.

The General Secretary of Energy and Mineral Raw Materials, Alexandra Sdoukou, said: “The first cycle of Kinouma Elektrika was completed with an impressive participation and having received in 16 months a total of 18,816 applications, from citizens and companies that chose e-mobility technology for their daily commuting. The contribution of the action to the penetration of electric vehicles in the transport mix was extremely important, which pushed us to upgrade the program “I move Electric” that we announce today and to strengthen the incentives provided with the ultimate goal of reducing pollution by 55% to in 2030. Financial instruments and tax incentives are part of an overall strategic plan to be reflected in the Climate Law, to use the resources of the Recovery Fund to strengthen the installation of publicly accessible charging infrastructure, to move our islands to climate neutrality and finally to sustainable and friendly green transport to the citizen “.
