K. Skrekas: The reduction in the adjustment clause will be seen in the accounts from August 1

On the last day of June, the adjustment clause is abolished and the providers will have to announce the electricity prices for next month, stressed the Minister of Energy, Costas Skrekas, speaking on SKAI TV. He explained that the reduction in bills will be seen from August 1.

“The clause is reduced from July 1. The display in the accounts will appear from August 1,” he said characteristically.

According to Mr. Skrekas, consumers will now be able to easily, clearly and transparently choose the provider with the cheapest price. The change of supplier will now be done without compensation, without penalties and clauses, with horizontal legislation, in order, as the minister said, to give absolute flexibility to households.

The minister also stood on the indirect ceiling in retail, which, as he said, absorbs the increase of 82% to 100% for all households, regardless of income, whether it is a main or a secondary residence.

Next to the amount payable is the discount on the bills

Mr. Skrekas stressed that since the state subsidy and the energy transition fund were not always visible in the electricity bills, now the suppliers were forced to appear next to the amount payable.

“We give about 300 to 400 million euros every month to support households and businesses. Greek consumers need to know this,” he said.

Lignite mining doubles in winter

Speaking about energy efficiency, he assured that our country is preparing for the most unfavorable scenario and doubles the lignite mines so that the factories will perform better in the coming winter. More specifically, he stated:

A new floating tank is installed in Revythousa for two ships with LNG

A new lignite plant will be put into operation in the fall and PPC will double its mining activity to ensure that there is enough lignite in the factories’ yards.

There are 4 gas plants that can run on diesel
Device recycling: 300,000 applications by Saturday. Regarding the program for the recycling of energy consuming devices, Mr. Skrekas stressed that until yesterday afternoon 300,000 applications had been submitted, of which 200,000 have been finalized.

As he said, this is a huge program, the largest ever in our country for the recycling of devices and he estimated that it will benefit hundreds of thousands of households.
