A new cycle of the “I move electrically” program will be announced by April with increased subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, while at the same time a special program will be announced for replacing taxis in Athens and Thessaloniki with electric ones, announced today the Minister of Environment and Energy Costas Skrekas.
In his message to the 5th Electrification Conference that is taking place today, Mr. Skrekas stressed that with the previous cycle of the program, the goal for the circulation of electric vehicles provided by the energy and climate planning was achieved.
Specifically, electric car registrations reached 6,967 last year, which is a new record, against a target of 3750 and 480 registrations in 2019. Under the program, more than 18,000 citizens applied for the purchase of an electric car, two-wheeler or bicycle. The new program will include subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles from both individuals and companies, while the new program for taxis will provide assistance of 22,500 euros for the purchase of an electric vehicle with the parallel withdrawal of the existing one.
