That of Bedi, as well as a star who has acted, among others, in Octopussy, the thirteenth film in the James Bond saga starring Roger Moore, And the story of a man who took life as an adventure trying not to spare himself anything, struggling with the difficulties to be able, successfully, to crown the dreams he had as a child. Many achievements and some regrets for a professional who speaks with a calm and seraphic voice, of who knows he has given and received so much from an audience that continues to follow and love him.

Why did you decide to write your autobiography right now?
“I had an amazing life and I wanted to live with it not only with my family and friends, but also with fans and interesting people in the world of showbiz, the glory and the dangers of showbiz. My life has been a roller coaster: it is the story of my ascent, my fall and my resurrection ”.

You have cherished your dream of being an architect, but also a director: as a child, instead, what did you dream of becoming?
“Children have many dreams. I was very impressed with the army and dreamed of becoming a general, but also a firefighter to be able to save people’s lives, and a journalist. I would have liked to have been an architect, but I couldn’t afford that path due to the economic conditions of my family. Once I was admitted to St. Stephen’s, I worked on TV and radio, and this led me to build my career. “

Speaking of the years you worked on the radio: how much did you suffer from having your exclusive Beatles interview canceled from the tape?
“It was a crazy achievement for a young reporter at the time. The disappointment and anger were indescribable: the radio canceled the tapes to be able to record on them for an economic question, without having any idea what he had in his hands. The anger was such that it led me to reconsider my whole life and move in a new direction. Crises, after all, are a strength. When you understand that if a door closes, new opportunities open up, it’s best to take advantage of them. It is with this kind of ambition that I decided to leave Delhi with a few rupees and to move to Mumbai in search of my fortune ».

Was it always ambitious?
“No. I wanted an interesting, creative life. I wanted to touch and reach people’s hearts. I have tried many ambitious things: in some I have succeeded, in others I have not. I have never been willing to do anything to achieve success ».

At one point, thanks to billboards, her face became popular all over India: what effect did it have on her?
«Fame in itself is gratifying, it gives you great happiness. Thanks to advertising and work as an actor in the theater I had become famous all over India, and this gave me a great feeling, a sense of great enthusiasm and adrenaline, but that was not what defined me. I was really happy to be recognized but, like all things, there were also disadvantages. Like the loss of privacy and all the joys of anonymity ».
