To dedicate the drama series in six episodes to him, Kaiser Karl, will be The Walt Disney Company EMEA, which will soon make it available in its eponymous streaming giant, Disney +.

The series, which is based on the biography of Raphaëlle Bacqué, will be shot in France and produced by the Parisian Gaumont, formerly of Lupin, Netflix, played by Omar Sy. Bacqué will also take care of the screenplay, together with Isaure Pisani-Ferry (Vampires, Ganglands) e Jennifer Have (Unfaithful, The red band society).

What, for the moment, is known is that the story will begin during the summer of 1972 and that it will retrace the stages of the work of Lagerfeld before he became Coco Chanel’s successor, when Yves Saint Laurent was still the most successful French designer. The series will also deal with the strong rivalry between Lagerfeld and Pierre Bergé, companion of Yves Saint Laurent, and the beginning of her love affair with Jacques de Bascher. In conclusion, Kaiser Karl will delve into the universe and personality of Lagerfeld, beloved but at the same time mysterious, in a world where appearances were (and still are today) everything.
