President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s spokesman spoke to Yeni Safak and said that “we see the F-16 program as a valuable alternative to enhancing our air power. If the US imposes conditions, it loses its neutrality.”
He also noted that “we continue to develop new technologies with our own national reimgs. Tremendous advances have been made in UAVs in recent years. With these opportunities and possibilities, Turkey has come a long way. We continue to develop our own opportunities to ensure our national security and border security.”
“We don’t want the F-16 program to end, depending on the situation they bring. If this matter sticks, we will make an assessment accordingly,” he added further.
