Kamala Harris canceled her last trip abroad due to the fires

Outgoing US Vice President Kamala Harris has canceled a planned tour of US military bases in Germany and other countries because of wildfires still raging in Los Angeles and its suburbs, the White House said. The trip, which would begin on January 17, would include stops at an air base in Rhineland-Palatinate, a federal state in the western part of Germany, as well as bases in Singapore and Bahrain. But because of the “historic” fires in Los Angeles, Ms. Harris has decided to stay in the U.S. to participate in coordination and relief efforts, according to her agency’s statement. Already on Wednesday, the outgoing president Joe Biden decided to cancel a visit he was planning to make to Italy. Source: RES
