Kamala Harris, vice president of the United States, said on Thursday (25) that she is ready for a debate against Donald Trump, the Republican Party candidate for president.
“I think voters deserve to see the ‘split screen’ that exists in this race on a debate stage, so I’m ready, let’s go,” she said.
A second debate between Trump and Joe Biden was scheduled for September 10 and would be produced by ABC.
Trump also wants to debate with Kamala
On Tuesday (23), Donald Trump said he “absolutely” wants to debate Kamala Harris and that he “would be willing to do more than one debate, actually.”
“I didn’t agree with anything. I agreed to a debate with Joe Biden. But I want to debate with her, and with her it will be no different, because they have the same policies. I think debating is important for a presidential race, I really do, you have a certain obligation to debate,” he highlighted.
Fox proposes date for debate
Fox News has proposed a presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris for September 17.
The network’s invitation to the debate would take place in the swing state of Pennsylvania, with anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum as moderators.
In letters to the Trump and Kamala campaigns, Fox News President Jay Wallace and Vice President of Policy Jessica Loker said the network is “open to discussion about the exact date, format and location — with or without an audience.”
