Kanye West’s social rampage continues to cost him dearly. And, cancellation after cancellation, after the no Grammy – despite the two statuettes won, as best rap song and rap performance – also comes the one of the Coachella Festival (the most important musical event in the United States). Suffice it to say that a petition has been launched online to prevent it from performing and the collection of signatures has collected over 50,000 subscriptions in a few days.
Not this time the rapper will perform and one wonders if the career really starts to creak following the jealousy of Pete Davidson (new boyfriend of ex-wife Kim Kardashian), also revealed in a video in which the comedian is kidnapped and then buried. On the other hand, last month Instagram banned him from his account for 24 hours because of the behaviors that incited racial hatred towards Trevor Noah (who then also conducted the ceremony of the Grammy). For the record, today his feed is empty, instead of his profile picture there is a black image: nevertheless the account is followed by 15.9 million users.
Already in 2016 the star had had a nervous breakdown which led to a stay in a facility for patients with mental health problems. Shortly before, Kanye West had had to cancel the final concert of his tour in São Paulo due to inappropriate behavior on stage.
The Coachella, which takes place over two weekends, in fact provided for a double performance (on April 17 and 24) for the artist, who was supposed to alternate on stage with Doja Cat, Finneas, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and our Maneskin (who continue their triumphal international climb). The magazine People asked for a comment from both Ye’s agent and the festival organization, Goldenvoice, but so far no one has wanted to release an official statement. Meanwhile, Ye was seen at his son Saint’s football match with Kim and seemed serene.
