Kanye West show in South Korea is canceled after Nazi lines

South Korean e-commerce company Coupang has canceled a 47 Kanye West show scheduled for late May “due to recent controversies involving the artist,” said the company and a ticket saleswoman on Monday (19).

Coupang and Interpark box office gave no details about the controversies involving West, now known as Ye.

The latest controversy of the American rapper involves a song released this month titled “Heil Hitler”, which praises Nazi leader and architect of the Holocaust.

The Adidas sportswear company ended its collaboration of West shoes in October 2022 due to a series of anti -Semitic statements and sold the last pair of its Yeezy brand sneakers in March.

Coupang and Interpark said all tickets that had been sold to the only show in Inheon on May 31 would be fully reimbursed. Coupang, whose streaming service, coupang play, was organizing the show, also suspended the sale of goods from West’s Yeezy fashion line on Monday, he said.
