The American rapper Kanye West hinted today that he will run for the US presidency in the 2024 election and said he has suggested to Donald Trump to support him as his… vice-presidential candidate.
The musician and fashion designer, who chooses to be called ‘Ye’, posted a series of videos on Twitter, which featured the ‘Ye 24’ logo. In one of them, West, 45, says he had a conversation with Trump, who has already announced he will run for president again in 2024.
“I asked him to be my vice president”West said, adding that Donald Trump “he started screaming.”
West was an independent candidate in the 2020 election but managed to garner only 70,000 votes.
The 45th president’s entourage did not immediately respond to an AFP question about whether the rap star’s claims are true.
Ye has come under fire in recent weeks for wearing a T-shirt that reversed the anti-racist slogan Black Lives Matter and for posting statements on Instagram and Twitter that were seen as anti-Semitic.
Adidas, which worked with West, announced Thursday that it is investigating after employees accused him of sexual misconduct and bullying.
