Kate Middleton appears in first video since surgery, according to The Sun

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, appeared fit and healthy in her first video recorded since undergoing surgery two months ago, according to images published by The Sun newspaper on its website this Monday (20).

Kate, 42, spent two weeks in hospital in January after undergoing surgery, which her office said was successful and planned, to treat an unspecified but non-cancerous condition.

Apart from a few blurry photos, she has not been seen in public since appearing alongside other members of the royal family on Christmas Day. In recent weeks, social media has been awash with speculation about her health, generating headlines and speculation around the world.

In the video, which, according to The Sun, was filmed on Saturday (16), a smiling Kate appears in casual clothes, walking and carrying shopping bags alongside her husband, the heir to the throne, Prince William, at a market in Windsor , near their house.

“I didn’t feel like they were hiding who they are. But they didn't really know how people would react because there was this anticipation about their whereabouts and I got the feeling that they just wanted to be quick there,” Nelson Silva, author of the video, told The Sun.

“Kate looked happy and relaxed. They seemed happy to be able to just go to a store and mingle with people. Kate looked relieved, as if going to the store had been a success.”

Kensington Palace, the couple's office, had no comment on the video. Kate's spokeswoman said she was recovering well but was not expected to return to official duties until after Easter on March 31.

Her office has previously asked the press to respect the princess's privacy and said it will only provide information when there are significant updates. Royal aides generally do not comment on what might be considered a private moment.

The video comes after Kate issued her first public statement this month to thank the public for their messages of support.

However, the following day, she apologized for causing confusion by editing a photo of her with the couple's three children, taken by William, after several news organizations, including Reuters, took it down saying she did not met its editorial standards.
