Valentine’s Day is already in the air, but not everyone will celebrate it by giving their other half flowers. And among these would not even be the prince williamword of Kate Middleton. The princess, visiting Leeds to launch her new project, Shaping Us, aimed at raising awareness of how important the first five years of a child’s life are to their education, she stopped to admire a flower stall at Kirkgate Market, where she received hyacinths as a gift.
“William will buy you red roses for Valentine’s Day”the florist said to her, and she replied: “I don’t think he will.” To report the change of lines was the man, Neil Ashcroft, who took advantage of the unexpected moment of fame to offer a discount to the future queen. William, however, would not be so unromantic, at least according to some statements by Kate herself, several years ago.
For their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, William sent her a bouquet of flowers and a note. The circumstances, however, were different. In February 2012, in fact, the two, married for less than a year, they were far away because the prince was serving in the Royal Air Force as a helicopter pilot. He wonders if he will give his wife something this year. For her, of course, flowers or not are other things that matter.
