Kate Middleton returns to her official commitments to welcome the Emir of Qatar

It was expected, but now it is back in the spotlight. Tuesday, Kate Middleton took part in the official welcome of the Emir of Qatar Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani and one of his three wives (the first, married in 2005), Sheikha Jawaher. To continue her gradual return to official commitments, Kate Middleton opted for one of her favorite colors: burgundy. The Princess of Wales wore a wine-colored total look completed with a matching hat, mini-bag and boots. As for jewellery, the Princess chose a series of pearl necklaces and earrings which are well known to specialists in royal vaults, having belonged to Elizabeth II. At her side, Prince William wore a tie matching his wife’s monochromatic outfit and still showed off the three-day beard that had caused his daughter so much pain. Princess Charlotte.

After the official welcome, Kate Middleton and Prince William embarked on a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace on the first of their two-day visit. This will be it the last visit to the royal residence for another three years, due to the major renovations that are about to begin. These works will last ten years and are expected to cost around 369 million pounds, equivalent to around 442.57 million euros, as reported by a correspondent quoted by Times. All royal functions will be moved to St. James’s Palace in London or Windsor Castle.

Last Saturday, the Princess revealed on social networks some details of this highly anticipated evening, which marks one of her very last public appearances in 2023 before the announcement of her mysterious operation and then cancer diagnosis in March. «Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. AND a time of celebration and joy, but it also gives us the chance to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that unite us all», wrote the 42-year-old British woman in a letter sent to around 1,600 guests. A few lines later, he added: “Christmas also reflects our vulnerabilities and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy, and that we need each other despite our differences. Above all, it encourages us to turn to love, not fear. Love for ourselves and others.
