An 8-year-old girl was “crying with joy” as Princess Kate he took her from the crowd and walked with her to place a toy among the flowers that people were leaving in memory of Queen Elizabeth at the royal residence at Sandringham.
The 40-year-old Princess of Wales was at Queen Elizabeth’s residence in Norfolk yesterday, looking out at the “sea” of tributes in her memory and chatting with the crowd alongside her husband William.
Kate spotted and spoke to a student, 8-year-old Elizabeth Sulkowska, who was holding a bouquet of flowers and a stuffed toy.
Footage shows the eight-year-old, who was in the crowd with friends from her school, talking to Kate.
Little Elizabeth then walked with the princess into the “sea” of tributes and took her turn placing the toy among the tributes.
The headteacher of Howard Junior School in King’s Lynn, Gregory Hill, where little Elizabeth goes, said: “Elizabeth was overwhelmed, she cried with joy to be chosen. It was a wonderful opportunity for her.”
