Kate Middleton will participate in the men’s final of Wimbledon. Finally, the most anticipated announcement of these hours has arrived. It was Kensington Palace that gave it, confirming that the princess will not be present today, for the women’s final. This possibility had already been discussed in recent weeks, given the strong bond that unites Kate Middleton to the Wimbledon tournament (it was the Queen herself who gave her the patronage of the tournament in 2016 after having maintained it since 1952) and the great passion for tennis. But there was no certainty and those closest to the Palace had spoken above all of Prince William’s doubts about Kate Middleton’s presence at the tournament. The Princess of Wales is in fact continuing chemotherapy.

«I wonder if we will see her again at Wimbledon. In her message Catherine said she wants to do things that bring her joy. I think that means being in nature, being with her children, participating in school life, but tennis, let’s not forget, is something that the princess loves very much,” Katie Nicholl, Vanity Fair America’s royal expert, told Entertainment Tonight».
The one tomorrow at Wimbledon final It will be Kate’s second public appearance, after being diagnosed with cancer last March and starting treatment. The last time the princess appeared in public was on June 15, on the occasion of the Trooping The Colourthe famous military parade in Central London which publicly celebrates the the sovereign’s birthday. “There are good days and not so good days,” Catherine explained when announcing her presence at the Trooping. “We hope that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies in her capacity as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club (AELTC),” said Debbie Evans, president of the All England Club, speaking to the English journalists of the Telegraph. “But in any case her health and her recovery remain the priority. We will work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible. I don’t know who could take her place, as an alternative but it will be something that we will evaluate at the moment, if necessary”.
Kate Middleton, who attended Wimbledon when she was engaged to Prince William in 2008 and then almost every year since the wedding, will not be accompanied this time by Prince William who will instead be busy in Germany tomorrow for the final of the European Championships of Spain-England football.
