Kate Middleton’s personal tweet for the girl killed in England

Women’s rights and the fight against violence against them have always been dear to the Duchess of Cambridge. Last spring she went, unannounced, to the vigil for Sarah Everard, the girl killed by a policeman in a London park. Now, on Twitter, Kate Middleton, posted a message in memory of Sabina Nessa, a young teacher who disappeared while traveling from home to a pub. His body was found in a park under a pile of leaves the day after he disappeared.

It is rare for the Duchess to use the Dukes of Cambridge account for a personal message. He chose to do so this time by signing with one C the tweet. “I am saddened by the loss of another innocent young woman on our streets. My thoughts go out to Sabina’s family, her friends and all those who have been affected by this tragic event ».

From the assassination of Sarah Everard to that of Sabina Nessa, 77 women have been killed in Britain. On average there is one case of femicide every three days. The associations in defense of women’s rights have reiterated these numbers and protested in recent days. The Duchess seems to share their feelings. When she went to leave flowers for Sarah Everard Kate Middleton had let it be known that she remembered well the fear of walking the streets of London returning alone in the evening.

There are many causes that the duchess argues, starting from that for mental health up to that for the education of children. This attention to the rights and safety of women seems to be an issue that is very close to you, not an institutional commitment, but an issue that you feel personally.
