Her meeting caused emotion Kate Middleton with 5-year-old Mila Snedon at the Hollywood House Palace in Scotland.
Mila, who is sick of leukemia, participates in the photo project of the Duchess of Cambridge “Hold Still” in collaboration with the National Gallery, on the subject of the pandemic in the United Kingdom.
In August 2020, they had a phone call and Kate learned that the little girl’s favorite color is pink.
“When I come to Scotland I will try to find a pink dress,” Kate told her. “Then it will remind me of you and our meeting.”
“Yes!” cried Mila excitedly.
Kate did it and Mila was very happy. She was wearing a light pink dress with a tiara in her hair.
“I want to give you a big hug,” Kate told her. “I love your dress. Can you make a turn? “
The photo of the little girl, named “Shielding Mila”, and was selected from 31,000 entries, showed her greeting her dad behind a window, according to the Athens News Agency. Mila and her mother, Linda, had to be isolated from her father, Scott, and her older sister, Jodi, because of the chemotherapy she underwent. The little girl suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Kate has learned that the family is together now. Linda’s mother encouraged her to take part in the competition.
“I’m very grateful that you are sharing this personal moment,” Kate said. “You know, it’s an image that is part of the national archive and it tells a very personal and very moving story of that particular period.”
