Kate Winslet ‘couldn’t stop crying’ when she was reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s friendship will continue, regardless of distance or time. When the two Oscar-winning actors got together in Los Angeles, USA, after nearly three years without seeing each other due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was emotional.

“I couldn’t stop crying,” Winslet told The Guardian newspaper.

“I’ve known him for half my life! It’s not like I’m in New York or he’s in London and there’s a chance to have dinner or coffee and talk. We have not been able to leave our countries. Like so many friendships around the world, we miss each other because of Covid,” said the actress.

The two starred together for the first time as Jack and Rose in the 1997 blockbuster movie “Titanic”, and later as husband and wife in the 2008 movie “Revolutionary Road.”

She also reflected on how young they were when they filmed Titanic. “I turned 21 on that record, and Leo turned 22,” she said.

Winslet, now 46, and DiCapario, 47, have gotten along very well in the 25 years since they met on the ship. “He is my friend, my very close friend,” Winslet said. “We’re wired for life.”
