How important is it for you to have a worldly, exciting life?
“Honestly, very little. As a child I was a tomboy. I liked playing in the dust and dressing up as a boy. Never been glamorous. I like to be as natural as possible and keep my feet on the ground.
Sometimes, of course, it also amuses me to put myself in gear, but that’s not really me ».
How would you describe your everyday style?
“In everyday life I don’t make up much and don’t spend much time fixing my nails and hair. In short, I am more natural and casual, than how people are used to seeing me on television or in photo shoots. My everyday style could be defined as hippie chic or bohemian chic. I like leather jackets and boots, worn jeans and fun t-shirts. When it is particularly hot I prefer to wear light, floating dresses and caftans.
What about your style for a metropolitan night?
«I try to be elegant and fashionable. Especially if the metropolitan evening coincides with a special event. It is one of the joys of life. Fashion is one of the ways of celebrating life and expressing who we are on a very deep and personal level ».
E sul red carpet?
«The catwalks are more formal and are made to exhibit, to show off. My favorite looks are the classic, captivating ones. I particularly like the Hollywood 40s style. I don’t like the risk and gambling of shocking looks. On the catwalk, I repeat, I choose the classic ».
How did you feel during the photo shoot with Ellen von Unwerth? How were the clothes?
“First of all, I felt honored to work with her. She is an icon and an extraordinary photographer. She’s fun and spontaneous, which matches my personality well and so it went really well between us. What is the fashion accessory in your closet that you are most fond of?

“Brooke is always dressed up, even when she has to go to the office. She asserts her power with every outfit, and she wants to make sure that no matter what happens in her life, her style remains flawless. “
When did you start riding?
“From a very young age. When I was two or three my mom used to take me with her to ride and I fell in love with horses. They have been a lifelong passion. At thirteen I considered my horse my best friend. I have never stopped loving horses and riding. I also took jumping and dressage lessons. I have always felt a strong bond with these animals and what I feel when I am near one of them is indescribable. There are really no words to express it ».
So it’s an innate passion …
«I would say yes. Either you feel it or you don’t feel it ».
But when did you start participating in equestrian endurance races?
«I started because in the stables where my horse was, there were those who participated in endurance races over distances of 40 and 80 kilometers. They intrigued me. Then at 22 I worked on a TV show called The Rip Tide and I earned enough to buy my first Arab. It was called Charisma. I won on my first 40km. This obviously stimulated me to continue. So I moved on to 80km and then to 160. In a couple of races I finished third and fourth. I love endurance sports, I’ve always wanted to test my limits. In some ways, endurance is similar to triathlon ».
Innate passion… But what was the spark that triggered it?
“Especially as a girl, I was very shy. I was more comfortable with horses than with people. The transition to competitions is a consequence of the fact that I am very competitive. I love the competition ».
Do you feel you can communicate with horses even without words?
“Of course. I have had several experiences that confirm this. I am unable to explain it, but non-verbal communication is the strongest type of communication ».
How did you meet Dominique Zoida?
«A Beautiful they created a triathlon team and I joined it. Dom was already a triathlete from Ironman and worked at CBS. The CBS triathlon team asked him to coach both teams… That’s how we met. We have been together since 2013 ».
Tell us something about your love story.
«We have an equal relationship and we are very much in love. We like to do everything together, we are also friends. We have many points in common. We are extremely compatible. We are two enthusiastic and we want to create many things together ».
She is a partner, daughter, mother, sister and now also a grandmother. Tell us how important family is to you.
“Family has always been important to me. It is a special moment when the different generations get together for some occasion or even just for the desire to share that time ».

Why did you choose to live in Topanga, in western Los Angeles County?
“There is a special energy in Topanga Canyon. First of all, there are a lot of horses and it doesn’t feel like you’re in a city. The territory is rocky and hilly, there are many wild species. Rattlesnakes, tarantulas, rabbits, coyotes and scorpions are constantly encountered on our property. We are close to nature and the culture here is, so to speak, anti-establishment, counterculture. It’s the perfect place for me to live. “
What do you like about your home?
“I like that you can’t see it from the street and that it seems to rise in the middle of nowhere, even though we are minutes away from civilization. It is quiet and peaceful. It is the perfect place to go for a run, a bike ride or a horse ride ».
What makes a home welcoming and makes it feel its own?
