The actress Katie Holmes 45, ex-wife of Tom Cruise denied that their daughter, Suri inherited his father’s millionaire fund at the age of 18. The artist made a post on Instagram, this Sunday (8), denying the rumors that circulated on social media about the subject.
“Completely false. Daily Mail, you can stop making things up”, wrote Katie when publishing a print of an article on the Daily Mail website, which reported that Suri had become a millionaire with her father’s inheritance.
In the caption of the publication, she also wrote: “Enough”.
The Daily Mail reported that the trust fund would be part of the former couple’s divorce settlement.
“The trust fund was carefully constructed so that she doesn’t receive all the money at once and become overwhelmed. Katie worries a lot when it comes to money, and is looking out for her daughter, of course. She wants Suri to be well supported and have a great quality of life,” a source told the website.
According to the British newspaper The Times, Tom Cruise has not seen Suri for at least a decade, since his separation from Katie Holmes in 2012, when the young woman was just five years old and even gave up his surname, adopting Noelle , mother’s middle name.
After the divorce, the American court granted Cruise the right to visit his daughter 10 days a month and the obligation to pay a monthly pension of US$33,000. According to international media, Tom has been fulfilling his financial obligation.
Visits to the daughter, however, do not occur. The Times claims that Tom and Suri’s estrangement resurrects questions about the role and impact of the Church of Scientology on Cruise’s life.
The actor would have discovered the religion through the actress Mimi Rogers, his first wife, to whom he was married from 1987 to 1990. After they divorced, Rogers abandoned the religion and attributed the end of his marriage to the Scientology leader, David Miscavige.
In addition to Suri Cruise, the Mission: Impossible star has two other children, Isabella, 28, and Connor, 26. The two were adopted in his second marriage, with actress Nicole Kidman.
After the end of the relationship, Tom took custody of the children, who also became followers of Scientology.
Siblings Isabella and Connor are currently married to partners who attend the same religious group, but remain away from their mother, Nicole Kidman.
“They chose to be Scientologists and, as a mother, my job is to love them,” said the actress in an interview with the American magazine Australia’s Who, in 2018.
