The American singer Katy Perry announced their new studio album on Tuesday afternoon (10). The new album is titled “143” and will be released on the day September 20 the same day that the singer performs in Brazil, through the festival Rock in Rio.
The announcement was made by the singer on her social media. In addition to the name and release date, Katy also revealed the cover of the new album, which is entirely focused on a futuristic aesthetic. Check it out:
The first single from the new album, titled “Woman’s World”, will be released on Thursday (11), at 8 pm (Brasília time). In recent days, Katy Perry released teasers of the new song, which will already be accompanied by a music video.
Katy Perry released her latest album, “Smile,” in 2020. Despite this, the star has been involved in some collaborations in 2022 and released the song “Electric” in May 2021.
The pop diva has been promoting the new project since the end of May this year, when she changed the entire visual identity of her website and social media accounts, which was enough for her fans to speculate about the arrival of a new album.
“The clubber era is here with a vengeance,” wrote one of Katy Perry’s fan pages, alluding to the visual symbols that made up the singer’s new logo, which featured her initials (KP) in chrome font on a bright red background.
There are still no further details about the rhythm that Katy will explore in “143”. Apparently, she will work with producer Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, known as Dr. Luke and accused of abuse by fellow American singer Kesha.
In an interview with Access Hollywood in April of this year, Katy revealed that her new album will explore unexplored areas, as it comes from an “unprecedented place of love and happiness”.
“I haven’t made an album where I feel truly happy, complete and full of love,” Katy said. “The new album is very bright and joyful, pure joy and fun. Playful and celebratory, a party,” she said.
The singer will also perform in Rio de Janeiro on September 20, when she will headline “Dia Delas” at Rock in Rio 2024. Karol G, Cyndi Lauper, Ivete Sangalo, Iza, Gloria Gaynor and Tyla will perform on the date.
