The singer Katy Perry 40, went to space on the morning of Monday (14) as part of the first 100% female crew of Blue Origin. Upon returning, the artist said she was the second most striking experience of her life.
“This experience is behind becoming a mother, which is why it was so hard to go to me, because all my love is there,” he said.
The artist is the mother of Daisy, 4, the result of her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom.
Alongside five other women, Katy Perry was 11 minutes off the ground. The mission crossed Karmán’s line – a theoretical border located 100 kilometers above sea level, which is usually considered the limit between the earth’s atmosphere and outer space.
The group is composed of journalists Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez Jeff Bezos’s girlfriend, owner of the company; the former scientist of rockets Aisha Bowe ; the scientist Amanda Nguyen; and The Film Producer Kerianne Flynn .
How was the Blue Origin flight that took Katy Perry to space?
BUE Origin’s New Shepard rocket fired the engine at its base around 10:30 am to take off from the Western Texas launch platform in the United States.
A few minutes after the launch, the rocket thruster separates from the crew capsule to start its controlled descent and make a vertical landing, so that it can be reused on future flights of the company – a practice that reduces space travel costs.
The crew capsule continued to climb toward the space, providing a few minutes of zero gravity for passengers.
Upon starting the descent, the crew capsule opened a set of parachutes and landed safely in the middle of the desert in Texas.
