Kazakh authorities investigate illegal activities of BINCLOUD mining hotel

Amid the tightening of the fight against crypto-fraud, the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan is investigating the activities of the BINCLOUD mining hotel on suspicion of organizing a Ponzi scheme.

The Department of Economic Investigation for the West Kazakhstan region reported that a pre-trial investigation into the organization of a financial pyramid using mining equipment has been launched. Fraudsters through WhatsApp and Telegram messengers contacted their victims and convinced them to invest in a project that offered individuals to rent mining equipment.

As a reward, users received 5-6% of the invested amount daily. At the same time, the organizers of BINCLOUD kept in their favor 16% of the total investment of users.

The Economic Investigation Department urges those affected by the activities of the BINCLOUD financial pyramid to contact the territorial departments of the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan or call the helpline.

Recently, the authorities of Kazakhstan have tightened the fight against crimes using cryptocurrencies and mining equipment. Law enforcement agencies in Kazakhstan recently uncovered an underground mining farm with a monthly income of up to half a million dollars, associated with high-ranking officials and businessmen.

In June, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was not satisfied with the level of acceptance of cryptocurrencies by society and instructed officials to ensure the development of the crypto industry.
