Eighteen members of the security forces were killed and 700 were injured in the riots and demonstrations that have rocked Kazakhstan for days, local authorities said on public television.
“The body of one of them was found beheaded,” Khabar-24 quoted TASS, Interfax-Kazakhstan and Ria Novosti as saying.
The network clarified that the 18 members of the security forces lost their lives in Almaty, the largest city and financial capital of Kazakhstan.
Earlier today the police had announced that “dozens of” protesters were killed by the Class forces in Almaty and that more than a thousand people have been injured in Kazakhstan, which has been overwhelmed for days of the largest mobilizations from its independence in 1991, which were caused from rising fuel prices.
