Keanu Reeves takes over Dogstar band after 21 years; watch videos

After two decades without going on stage, the dogstar actor’s band Keanu Reeves performed at the BottleRocket Napa Valley festival in California, USA.

The event took place on Saturday (27) and surprised by announcing the group that ended activities in 2002, after two albums: “Our Little Visionary” (1996) and “Happy Ending” (2000). Dogstar was formed in 1991, when Reeves and Mailhouse met in a supermarket and became friends.

Last year, Keanu Reeves (backup vocals and bass), Robert Mailhouse (battery) and Bret Domrose (vocals and guitar) have reunited in the US and are now preparing to release their first song in 23 years.

In an interview with Billboard, Reeves explained that the group’s return came after missing “playing together, writing together, performing together”. The actor also said that when they got together, it was something “really positive and creative, so we thought ‘okay, let’s make this happen'”.

Dogstar’s next steps aren’t just about a single. According to the John Wick interpreter, there is a new album on the way. “I think the three of us were like, ‘Well, if we’re going to do this, let’s do an album.’

During the band’s early years, Reeves was divided between acting and bass, running several American and international festivals, such as Glastonbury, in the United Kingdom – the group even opened concerts for David Bowie and Bon Jovi. They broke up in 2002 at a concert in Japan.
