Kerameos Prefecture: Not a day of delay to secure the special funds from the Recovery Fund

“It is important that we do not delay a single day to secure, through the Recovery Fund, € 36 million for industrial doctorates and € 86 million for visiting professors and researchers. The new arrangements aim at a more dynamic university. pioneering and closely linked to the needs of society and a better school with guaranteed rights for workers “.

This was emphasized by the Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos, defending the amendments she submitted to the bill discussed in the Plenary Session for the strengthening of “yotting” and responding to the criticisms of the opposition that spoke of systematic devaluation of the parliamentary process with last minute amendments.

The new regulations provide:

-The counting of educational service of nurses

-Applications for granting, with or without remuneration, long-term leave of primary and secondary education teachers

-The industrial doctorates

-The upgrade of the institution of visiting professors and researchers with the possibility of their employment in universities.

“We want a society more useful to society that will have tangible results, with a full institutional framework for researchers and teachers. Everywhere in Europe there is the institution of visiting professors and researchers. Only we are left behind. You want to be isolated, we “We want to be pioneers and to have a complete legal framework for visiting researchers and professors, to give a boost to the brain name”, pointed out Ms. Kerameos, responding to the criticism of the official opposition.

He also emphasized the planning of teachers’ licenses, noting that their right is protected without overburdening their colleagues, as well as the calculation of previous service in the nursing sector so that, as he said, better and timely planning can be done and they can participate. on equal terms in schools.

The reaction of the parliamentary representative of SYRIZA, Nektarios Santorini, was intense, accusing the Minister of Education that, “once again he is planting an amendment to an irrelevant bill without concerning an urgent issue”.

“We disagree with the industrial degrees. You are going to cover up an unacceptable institutional setback. For the first time for Greek universities, the supervisory board may have an unrecognized doctorate. Obviously it is a discriminatory regulation, it undermines the doctorate and creates two categories. doctors.

You are a government of the useless and not of the excellent. “Bring tricks to serve your close friends in education”, Mr. Santorinios characteristically objected.

“Once again, you are legislating without consultation and in the wrong way of the previous years that you were accusing, submitting in an irrelevant bill 4 amendments with different topics without being necessary”, noted for his part, the rapporteur of KINAL, Dimitris Biagkis.

“This government is giving the tools to strengthen the public university and strengthen it. This bothers you because it is at the core of your ideologies to say more and do more. You are the opposition of the mediocre”, commented the parliamentary representative of ND Haris Theocharis answering Mr. Santorinios.
