Kevin Rudd deleted posts attacking Donald Trump after the election

Australia’s ambassador, Kevin Rudd, has removed a series of posts from his X account that launched scathing attacks on Donald Trump following the Republican’s victory in Tuesday’s presidential election. Australia’s foreign affairs department confirmed the centre-left former prime minister (2013) had deleted messages on the social networking site in which he called Mr Trump a “wrecker” and a “traitor to the West”. Mr Rudd deleted the messages to “remove the possibility” of criticisms he has made in the past “being misconstrued”, an Australian diplomatic official said during a parliamentary session today. “Ambassador Rudd looks forward to working with President Trump and his team to continue strengthening the alliance” between the two countries, he added.
