Kevin Sneader, terminated as director of McKinsey

McKinsey partners have voted to replace Kevin Sneader as global managing partner, according to the Financial Times. The consultancy’s next leader is expected to be Bob Sternfels or Sven Smit, who are in the final round of the election process.

Sneader’s dismissal would have to do with his management during various crises and with his attempts to reform the company. The manager had opted to reinforce the scrutiny of the customers acquired by his partners.

McKinsey elects its global manager every three years from among all its partners. The 650 ‘seniors’ vote in various rounds and this time Sneader was not able to advance to the final. All his predecessors had held office for at least two ‘terms’.

A few weeks ago the consultancy had agreed to pay $ 574 million to settle the lawsuits of 49 states after it advised several drug companies accused of promoting the use of opiates.
