Kia showed the silhouette of the new EV6 electric car: the crossover will be presented in 2022

Kia is transforming quite a bit this year, focusing on the technology of the future. For example, the manufacturer announced a new logo and slogan, removed the word “Motors” from the name and introduced the “Plan S” strategy – the company plans to smoothly move from the production of cars with internal combustion engines to the production of full-fledged electric cars, as well as the introduction of self-driving technologies. Now, representatives of the company have decided to publish teasers of the body design of the new EV6 electric car – this is the first car that is being created under the auto giant’s new development program.

It is worth clarifying that the Kia EV6 car will be the first model of the manufacturer, which will be built on the latest modular platform Electric-Global Modular Platform. It is used by Kia on a par with Hyundai, which has already introduced its small crossover Hyundai Ioniq 5 based on E-GMP. Based on this, we can conclude that the EV6 from Kia will have the same range of batteries and power plants as the Ioniq 5. At the same time, Naturally, the Kia crossover will also be a fairly compact solution in the segment, it will have four doors, but its design differs significantly from its platform counterpart.

Elongated LED headlights are located on the front of the car, the hood has got a new logo design, and the manufacturer has abandoned the usual radiator grill – it is needed for models with an internal combustion engine, but not for electric cars. Behind the crossover, you can see a rather interesting design of the lamps in the format of an unbreakable strip – the illumination also passes along the door to the luggage compartment. It is also worth noting that the transition from the roof to the trunk and rear bumper is quite sharp, which is typical for fresh SUVs of various brands.

Kia has officially announced that the full presentation of the EV6 will take place in the first quarter of 2021, with a release scheduled for 2022.
