Kidswear fashion: are you ready for Vivetta?

We reveal a novelty for next Spring-Summer 2022: Vivetta, the brand of designer Vivetta Ponti, will have a mini-me line dedicated to girls that will go from 2 to 14 years. Here we show you a preview of some of the sketches of the collection.

Take a good look at them, doesn’t it seem like the perfect miniature version of the woman who usually dresses the brand? Ironic, girlish and at times pop. The mood of the kidswear collection we got it told directly by one of the designers of Marbel, the company that produces and will distribute the brand in stores next spring.

In fact, she, who together with Vivetta Ponti, shared ideas, sketches and inspirations confirms that “the characterizing elements of Vivetta’s little girl collection they are the same as for women: you will find the charm of a doll, the little hands, the iconic signature of the brand, and the romantic workings on collars and dresses ».

But what are the secrets of the world ofchildren’s clothing? Are there any rules? How do you create the mini version of an adult collection? And then… the strongest trends, the fabrics to focus on and the purchasing behavior. If we think of women’s prêt-à-porter certain mechanisms seem familiar and easy to understand, but when we talk about children’s fashion, stop everyone: many things change.

Why? Simple, the industry is very different than what we commonly imagine it to be fashion system, precisely for this reason, those who create and produce children’s clothing very often specialize in this sector in particular. Because the little ones have different needs: of style, of shape but above all of fabrics. How many times have we heard them exclaim “I don’t wear it, because it stings!”, Or who among us doesn’t remember when he uttered phrases like “I don’t like it, it’s uncomfortable”?

To understand more, we asked Giuseppe Cariello, CEO and founder of Marbel Spa, an Apulian company specializing in kidswear made in Italy, to reveal the secrets of this world with which it has successfully dealt with since 1990.

His company, in fact, manages the creative office, production and distribution (they have recently also opened e-commerce) of many “adult” brands. In addition to the brand new Vivetta there are, among others, Alviero Martini 1st Junior class, Gaëlle Paris, Vicolo girl e Aspen Polo Club, the proprietary brand.

Here, summarized in three points, the focuses he suggested to have in mind when talking about kidswear.

THE RULES OF CHILDREN’S FASHION
1. We must always pay great attention to the fabrics, they must be natural and of excellent quality.
2. Trends? After casual garments, which are an evergreen, one trend still wins over everyone: the fashion mini-me. Thanks to social media, and an ironic attitude, he never tires. So enjoy!
3. Password: total look. Each item of the children’s collections must be assembled. It is unlikely that a mother will come home from shopping with pieces that are unmatched or that have nothing to do with each other. The wardrobe of the little ones must be, first of all, functional.

And in fact, these points already tell us a different world than that of the greats. But it is very often from adult brands, as is the case with the company of Giuseppe Cariello, which comes the inspiration for the children’s collections. And that he translates in his Bitonto company, helped by a brilliant team of young designers (all from Puglia). Their product is made in Italy, but it could easily be defined as made in Puglia because more than 80% of the production is zero km.
