The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today the strengthening of security in Mariupol, a large city located in the Ukrainian-controlled area of Donbass.
Zelensky’s deputy chief of staff, Kirill Tymoshenko, had talks earlier today with local administrators and mayors on imposing a state of emergency on all Ukrainian territory except Donetsk and Luhansk. The participants discussed in detail their action plans in various situations, the organization of the work of hospitals, the actions of military-civilian administrations in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions and the strengthening of security in Mariupol, he said in a statement.
Earlier, Zelensky himself said he could not predict Russia’s actions but stressed that the Ukrainian army was ready for any development.
