The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, told the journalist of CNN , Erin Burnett, who worries that Russian President Vladimir Putin could use a tactical nuclear weapon in the Ukrainian capital. He warns that he cannot guarantee safety for returning residents, urging caution.
“Safety is the top priority right now. Yes, of course we care, and we expect our warriors to defend us, but the risk still exists. And without our partners, the US and European countries, we cannot survive,” Klitschko said.
He also said that “there is no doubt” that the city is still Russia’s “primary target”.
Klitschko even claims that Russian attacks could happen “at any second”.
According to the mayor, the war “changed everyone’s lives” and says he is keeping his fingers crossed to “stop this senseless war as soon as possible”.
