North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, supervised exercises from the country’s Air Force and stressed the need for an intensification in war preparation, the state media said on Saturday (17).
Kim, who inspected anti-aircraft and air strike exercises from the 1st North Korean air division on Thursday, asked “all units of all armed forces to perform“ an advance in the preparation for the war, ”KCNA said.
The images of the exercises on North Korean state TV showed a MIG-29 jet releasing a missile, which seemed to be a North Korean version of a medium-range missile developed by Russia, Hong Min, North Korea analyst at the Korean Institute for national unification.
So far, this month, Kim has supervised a missile test, has inspected tanks and ammunition factories, made a rare visit to the Russian embassy in Pyongyang, reaffirming the country’s alliance with Russia, and supervised tanking and training units training exercises.
