North Korean leader Kim Jong Un led an emergency meeting of the Politburo (committee of communist parties) and ordered the military to be used to stabilize medicine supplies in the city of Pyongyang as the country grapples with its first confirmed outbreak. Covid-19, state media reported on Monday (local time).
The country reported an additional 392,920 people with symptoms of fever, with eight new deaths, state news agency KCNA said.
“All provinces, cities and counties in the country have been totally closed and work units, production units and residential units isolated since the morning of May 12, and a rigorous and intensive examination of all people is being carried out,” the report said. KCNA on Sunday (15).
