Kim Kardashian bought the amethyst cross worn by Princess Diana: She paid £163,800

The impressive amethyst cross worn by Princess Diana acquired at a Sotheby’s auction in London n Kim Kardashian.

Specific Stavros of amethyst was created by luxury jewelry designer Garrard in 1920. Princess Diana had worn it on many private occasions and also at a charity gala in London in October 1987.

The jewel was reportedly claimed by four bidders during the last five minutes of the auction and sold for £163,800a price more than double the original estimate, to a rep for Kardashian, the auction house confirmed.

The cross, as reported by the Athens News Agency, was first bought by businessman Naim Attallah in the 1980s and due to his friendship with Diana, he had lent it to her several times, according to the Guardian.

Ahead of the sale, the house’s head of jewelery in London, Kristian Spofforth, said: “Jewelry owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on the market, especially a piece like the ‘Attallah Cross’. which is so colourful, bold and distinctive’.
