During the debate on the Development Law that is being held in the Parliament, the Secretary of K.O. of the Movement for Change and Member of Parliament for Larissa, Ms. Evangelia Liakouli, commented on the recent events that took place and offend Parliament and the political system in general, noting the following:
“We express our deep regret for the events of last night, however, we denounce politically, both ND and SYRIZA, for the methodical polarization they are attempting. It is clear now! It is a strategic goal of the Government and the Official Opposition to polarize, to divide, to mobilize their audiences, in which they feel they have a problem, but they are inferior to their circumstances, their debt and their parliamentary duty.
The disgusting image we have seen in Parliament is tragic and affects us all. Because we are all part of Parliament and, fatally, what is happening is reflected in our own faction, in the political system and in the trust of the citizens that has been lost.
Last night, we remembered times when slang prevailed, swearing, controversy, acidity, insult, personal blows below the waist. They are both natural and moral perpetrators of the parliamentary practice of “Ande re”! We hear them all under the masks. This is how they think we can walk the path of democracy. They have brought the sidewalk and the margin to the fore again, in a space that is, predominantly, educational for the citizens and is a flagship of political thought, the core of political life.
In particular, toxicity has flooded Parliament in the last three days. On the one hand, we saw the Prime Minister and the whole Government bragging about how well they did in the bad weather, while the people are sighing. On the other hand, the undersigned Official Opposition, chose, as the front of its opposition struggle, to respond with the narration ‘Fourthiotis’!
We saw, during the discussion of the motion of censure, two enemy armies standing, filling Parliament with war chants, with the sharpness of the ‘red’. They are still plucking the daisy to find out what is wrong with the man wearing it and the sweater being taken off, and he is not sunk in the polls. If they post videos of the meetings, and enjoy themselves, they will get the answer.
In fact, yesterday’s confrontation between the Speaker of Parliament and Mr. Polakis was one of the most unfortunate and difficult moments of the parliamentary practice, condemnable in all its manifestations. The incredible image that was created should, with a sense of self-control, be limited and dismissed. Because, in the balance should always be entered, what is really important: the show or the disgust that is created in the world?
We, therefore, firmly state our clear distance from these images. We are more stubborn and intensify our struggles against precisely this image and in favor of a return to normalcy, as we perceive it. Because, we know that the elephant in the Parliament is the practices of the dipole, which do not allow the factions to breathe, to express themselves, to create, to give their political stigma. On the contrary, both ND and SYRIZA remain divisive, because this serves their armies, their strategy and their methods.
However, this image of polarization, arrogance and outrageous attacks was also aimed at our party, by the Speaker of Parliament but also by the Prime Minister himself, who attacked us, our political path, as well as members of the faction that only cause pride in the political scene. Furthermore, for the Official Opposition, we emphasize that big names and big slogans, such as George and Andreas Papandreou, cannot fit into small mouths and small lips. “The people do not forget what the Right means” can only enter the lips with consistency in the path, which lifted the burden of saving the country and the Republic.
The sweater is already being taken off, and the nudity of their arguments is beginning to appear, here and there. We see their concern, but with composure and self-control, we move forward, to serve the people and the homeland! “.
