KINAL pre-conference on energy and its transition to mild forms, next Sunday

With the energy crisis and the “rally” of price increases that cut the income of households and businesses intensifying, PASOK-KINAL insists on the emergence of the social agenda and organizes its second regional program pre-conference in Kozani, next Sunday on “Poor Sunday” socially just response to the energy crisis “. Among the speakers, the presence of the former Minister of Energy, Giannis Maniatis, for the first time at a KINAL event since 2015, makes an impression.

Proposing and insisting on imposing a ceiling on the adjustment clause and the tariffs, the taxation of the super profits of the energy companies so that it is not only the state (through subsidies) and the citizens (through the increases) that suffer the consequences of the crisis, the Movement for Change As far as long-term planning is concerned, it is in favor of smoother detachment from lignite, ie a shorter transition period with natural gas, so that we can move faster to renewable energy sources.

An important place in the proposals of PASOK-KINAL has the fastest transition to the “green” era with a better network of high connectivity, so that thousands of Greeks are both producers and consumers. Not to be limited only to large RES projects, but to somehow socialize energy production with the creation of energy communities, especially in the agricultural-livestock sector, in the processing sector, but also in homes with the installation of photovoltaics in homes. Investments are needed with the creation of new substations and the upgrade of the network.

PASOK-KINAL has asked IPTO and HEDNO to prepare a specific study, which will be updated every two years and will answer the question how many renewable energy sources can the electricity network withstand, what projects must be done to have the possibility of absorbing renewables with a time milestone in 2030.

According to the program of the pre-conference on energy, the works will be opened by George Arvanitidis, MP of Thessaloniki II and head of the Parliamentary Sector of Environment – Energy and will be followed by the speech of Nikos Androulakis, president of PASOK – KINAL.
