KINAL: To attribute responsibilities for the darkness to the schools

The recent introduction of material in schools with unscientific and obscure content raises serious issues for the leadership of the Ministry of Education, the Movement for Change notes in a statement.

“In times when knowledge and science determine almost decisively the creative future of modern society, any attempt to introduce medieval and irrational concepts, especially in school, creates a major pedagogical problem.

Such an extreme reactionary view of man and life – as that carried by the recent conception of the “unborn child” – can not pass without being given specific responsibilities. The views expressed directly undermine knowledge, education, science, education.

This program had an “order of the Deputy Minister” and was sent to the schools in the most official way. So two things happen. Either the Ministry of Education embraced these theories and considered that they should be formally introduced into the content of institutional knowledge or that it does not have executives capable of discerning what is scientifically and educationally correct for schools.

“Therefore, the Ministry must give clear answers about what happened, publish the relevant documents and assign specific responsibilities”, concludes Charilaou Trikoupi.
