Royal fans waved UK flags to greet the king, who returned to his famous London residence at around 1pm local time, 9am ET.
He is due to hold meetings at Buckingham Palace with religious and Commonwealth leaders, according to a palace statement.
The King is due to receive the Commonwealth Secretary General and the Chancellor of Windsor, Buckingham Palace said. He will also attend a reception with the kingdom’s high commissioners.
