Britain’s new monarch, Charles IIIstopped and got out of his car on his arrival at Buckingham Palace this afternoon to greet the crowd who had gathered to mourn loss of Queen Elizabeth.
Charles, returning from Balmoral, Scotland with his wife Camilla, got out of the car to cheers from the crowd who began singing the anthem “God save the king.”
One of the attendees even shouted “We love you, Carol”. He then proceeded to the gates and saw the countless bouquets that had been left on the Palace railings by Londoners and tourists.
The new king will deliver a sermon to the nation this afternoon (18.00 local time, 20.00 Greek time). He will be officially proclaimed king tomorrow Saturday.
