King Charles underwent surgery, Camilla always remained by his side: “He's fine”

King Charles has undergone prostate surgery and is “doing well”. This was confirmed by Queen Camilla at the exit of the London Clinic where he had entered together with Charles III, 75 years old, on Friday morning to pay his first visit to the Princess of Wales, returning from a abdominal surgery. Subsequently the king was taken under the care of doctors to undergo the planned prostate surgery which he had announced a few days earlier, in conjunction with Kate Middleton's hospitalization.

For the entire duration of the operation which lasted for six hours, Queen Camilla remained inside the London Clinic awaiting the conclusion of the operation. Leaving the structure, the queen consort greeted the journalists, thanking them and confirming the good health of Charles III: “He is fine”. Shortly before the king entered the clinic, Buckingham Palace had issued a short note to send “to all those who sent their good wishes” King Charles' thanks and express satisfaction for the fact that «his diagnosis is having an important positive impact for greater awareness of everyone's health». According to data from the National Health Service (NHS), an increase in tests and procedures relating to the prevention of prostate diseases has been recorded in recent days.

Last January Buckingham Palace announced that the king would undergo a “corrective procedure” to treat his enlarged prostate and that the condition was benign. Following the surgery Charles III will remain hospitalized as long as necessary and then continue convalescence at home, probably for a few weeks. But according to sources close to the Royal family, the king intends to work even during his hospitalization.
