O King Abdullah II of Jordan warned, this Tuesday (17), about forced immigration of Palestinians and said that his country and Egypt will not receive refugees.
“This is a red line because I think it is a plan by some of the usual suspects to try to create problems in the territory. This is a situation with a humanitarian dimension that has to be dealt with within Gaza and the West Bank and not to try to push the challenge of the Palestinian future onto other people’s shoulders,” he said.
“No refugees in Jordan, no refugees in Egypt,” he said.
He expressed deep concern about the high number of Palestinian and Israeli lives lost and the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which he described as “unacceptable”, both in terms of legal and humanitarian concerns.
“This year is the bloodiest for Palestinians and Israelis in recent memory and it will get worse if we do not stop this war and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing,” the king said.
